Marseille is France's 'second' largest city, classified as a significant centre of art and history. The city has many historic and modern buildings, excellent museums and galleries.
It is a melting pot of commerce, culture and tourism, and serves as the gateway to Provence and many other areas in southern France. Marseille is the oldest city in France, founded by the Greeks in 600 BC, and today boasts one of the most diverse and cosmopolitan populations in Europe. Many visit the area for it's natural beauty and spectacular climate, but the city is evenly an attractive venue for hosting conventions and symposia like the “European Vascular Course”.
The famous “Palais de Pharo”, our location for the EVC-Meeting may be one of the most attractive convention places worldwide, overlooking the Château d'If and the entrance to the Vieux-Port, the old harbor, and the city. A truly historic building, in the midst of a beautiful park. Inside, however, the Palais de Pharo, is equipped with state of the art technique and facilities for a convention like ours.
The beauty of the location, surrounded by sea, the park, harbor and historical building, adds to the ambience of the European Vascular Course aside of its intense scientific programs during the day. Just stepping out of the convention auditorium for a break looking at the historic buildings, sea and the city is regenerating.
Marseille in the month of May will almost guarantee the visitors good weather conditions for strolling around the city after the day at the course.
